About the Friends

 

The Goals and Mission of the Friends of the
Port Orange Library







  • Promotion and enrichment of library services by raising funds for items not provided by the library budget.
  • To encourage library use by acquainting the people of the community with the programs, equipment, and facilities available.
  • To help create a congenial atmosphere for volunteer opportunities within the library. To work with library administration to obtain state aid and the passage of library legislation.
  • To encourage the continued cooperation of City and County officials in their support of the library.
  • To encourage gifts, memorials, and endowments for the benefit of library services.

The Friends of the Port Orange Library is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to work toward the continuous development of the best library for the community and region.

The Friends organization believes that a library is a vital, vigorous indicator of community life. The Friends encourage the development and the use of the Port Orange Regional Library's services. The library provides adventures to last a lifetime; it has something for people of all ages. Won't you join and/or renew with us in supporting and promoting the library and its services?


Gift Giving for Your Friends


Friends memberships are available as gifts for your friends and relatives. Donations are also accepted as honoria or as memorials; you may wish to consider a donation for a book, or a piece of equipment to honor or remember someone. Contact the Friends should you choose to honor or remember someone in this way.
