Port Orange Library Book Club:  The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin
Be careful what you wish for. Traveling abroad with her mother at the turn of the 20th century to seek a titled husband, beautiful, vivacious Cora Cash, whose family mansion in Newport dwarfs the Vanderbilts', suddenly finds herself Duchess of Wareham, married to Ivo, the most eligible bachelor in England. Nothing is quite as it seems, however: Ivo is withdrawn and secretive, and the English social scene is full of traps and betrayals. Money, Cora soon learns, cannot buy everything, as she must decide what is truly worth the price in her life and her marriage.
"[An] exceptionally thoughtful and stunning historical novel that will leave you reeling and astonished...and give you the urge to re-read it the instant the last page is turned." --BookReporter.com“

Bear ProPlease join us as Cathy Connolly of the Florida Wildlife
Conservation Commission presents a program about bears and your neighborhood.  Over the years, Florida’s bear population has been known to begin entering populated areas, drawn by smell and the encroachment of cities on their territory.  Bear sightings have been reported in neighborhoods across Volusia County, such as in Ormond.  This program is to help educate you on why the bears approach areas with large human populations and how to best deal with them so that you, your family, and the bear does not get injured.  You will learn a great deal from this informative program.
