April Friends and library programs

April Showers Book Sale
Friday, April 5th, 9am-4pm
Saturday, April 6th, 9am-1pm

Many of our generous Community members graciously donate books to our library. We welcome those donations of fiction, non-fiction, hard cover and paperbacks, children's books and magazines. All Books are carefully screened, and those items not selected for the collection are sold at our book sales. Proceeds from the sales are used for library needs.

Jonathan Brady, organist and singer, will delight with his melodious music! 
Tuesday, April 9th, 2pm
Please join us for an afternoon of smooth music as Jonathan Brady performs a wide variety of favorites including the jazz standards of the 1920's through the 50's and classic and soft rock tunes of the 50's through the 80's.  Jonathan's smooth vocal style was inspired by Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, and Mel Torme.

Dr. Evelyn Bethune

Dr. Evelyn Bethune, granddaughter to Mary McLeod Bethune, is a native Floridian. She has two daughters and one grandson.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, Master's Degrees in Finance and Political Science/American Government, and a PhD in Political Science/American Government.  Dr. Bethune conducts seminars and workshops on politics, economics, women, self-esteem, and community building, to name a few of her many topics.  Today's focus is her legendary grandmother.

College in the Fast Lane

Seeking to shorten your time to a college degree?  Brooke Smith, a dynamic adult college student and working mother of two, will offer a how-to class on shortening the length of time to a college degree by using nationally accredited examination programs.  The class is designed to provide information on shortening the time to an undergraduate degree by utilizing nationally accredited credit-by-examination programs offered by The College Board and Prometric Testing, as well as other althernative forms of credit.  This class is designed for current college students, dislocated workers seeking to change careers, as well as adults returning for a degree after time away from school.  The credit-by-exam programs are accepted at most area colleges.
