Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease:  The Basics

This program is designed to provide you with the basic information everyone needs about memory loss issues.  By providing general information, this program can serve as a jumping-off point for those interested in additional education programs that will explore aspects of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias on a deeper level.

Port Orange Beginnings and the History of Freemanville
Friday, June 28th, 2pm
Dr. Len Lempel, Professor of History at Daytona State College, will discuss the founding of Port Orange by Dr. John Milton of Hawk's Land and Lumber Company in 1866 and the hundreds of freedmen who came with him.  Dr. Lempel will also focus on the freedmen settlers and the history of Freemanville, the black community in the northeast corner of Port Orange.  Port Orange Centennial Event.
