Author Spencer Lane recounts this four plane, 175 day flight, depicting the drama and obstacles overcome in this monumental effort. In addition to the actual events of the flight itself, Lane details Mitchell’s organizational efforts which made it all possible. He also provides an account of Mitchell’s life before and after this event and analyses his troubles with his superiors.
