Dianne Jacoby presents Ophelia—Florida
Sufragette. 2 p.m. Friday, March 11. In this one-woman performance, Dianne Jacoby
gives us a glimpse into the life of a Florida Suffragette. A woman's right
to vote was granted 102 years ago in 1920 with the passage of the 19th
Amendment of the Constitution. The historical drama 'Ophelia, Florida
Suffragette' honors this event. Ophelia, a Florida girl from a privileged
family, shares the events that changed her life as she became a placard
carrying Suffragist in Washington D.C. Sponsored by the Friends of the Port Orange

Light: 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17. Did you know that the US Lighthouse Service was the
first Federal agency to hire women in occupations other than clerical,
custodial, or educational? Come meet Lime Rock Lighthouse keeper Ida Lewis in a
first-person interpretation by Docent Jackie Mann from Ponce Inlet Lighthouse
