Summer Reading Round Up
Tuesday, August 1st - 10:30am
Join us for a discussion of your favorite, or not so favorite, summer reads. Refreshments and a door prize included! 

Genealogy Databases
Tuesday, August 1st - 2pm
Learn about the four databases, Ancestry for Libraries, Fold3, HeritageQuest, and Newsbank Historical Newspapers, available for free with your library card for genealogy research. 

Wednesday Tai Chi
Wednesdays at 5:30pm
Join us as certified fitness instructor Ed Eisler leads us through a tai chi (Wu Style) program, beginner through advanced, including joint looseners, breathing exercises, Qigong, and form training. This program is good for weight loss, fall prevention, increased bone density, and increased overall muscle tone and stamina. This program repeats every Wednesday.

Back to School Book Sale

Mondays at 10am

Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body
Tuesday, August 8th - 2pm
For centuries, we've known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, science is able to provide insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age. Join us to learn about research into the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity, and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. This program will be presented by Damarys Melendez of the Alzheimer's Association with tips from the latest research.

Adult Coloring for Relaxation
Thursday, August 10th - 10am - 12pm
Coloring isn't just for kids anymore. Supplies will be provided, or feel free to bring your own project!

Voyage to Health: A Sailor's Guide to Navigating Life, Love, and Adventures in Great Food
Thursday, August 10th - 2pm
Get onboard and get inspired! A sailor share the lessons she's learned while living aboard a sailboat for the past 20 years. Discover how she solves big challenges in minimal space - whether it's overcoming major health concerns, inspiring change in others, or deciding what to cook for dinner!
Presented by Carole Fontaine, inspirational artist, teacher (she teaches Meditative Writing, Mindfulness, Shakti Dance Yoga, and Reiki), and author of "Yogi Onboard". This program includes a tropical food demo and free taste samplings by Chef Emily Mabe of Debbie's Health Foods. (This program was originally scheduled for July 21, 2017.)


Jackson Creek String Band
Friday, August 11th - 2pm
Jackson Creek String Band offers a dynamic blend of folk music, bluegrass, old-time dance songs, and fiddle tunes that has delighted audiences all over Florida. Join us for a great performance by one of Central Florida's favorite bands!

Master Gardeners Plant Clinic: Citrus
Tuesday, August 15th - 2pm
Volusia County’s master gardeners will share gardening tips and answer questions during the plant clinic. Residents can bring their plants for a free check-up.  Master gardeners are volunteers who answer gardening questions at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, present horticultural classes to community groups, and staff information booths at fairs and garden shows. Science Fiction Book Club
Thursday, August 17th - 6pm
Join us for a discussion of The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis. The Science Fiction Book Club meets the third Thursday of each month at 6pm in the Computer Lab. 

Uses of Herbs
Friday, August 25th - 2pm
An overview of a dozen herbs and their uses for cooking, tea, aroma, and health. Joyce Harris, the "Herbal Gourmet," is the presenter.
