December Library Programs

The Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle, will offer a variety of fun and informative programs, sponsored by the Friends of the Port Orange Library, in December. Stop by one of these free programs to meet new friends and learn a new skill or two. For more information, please call the library at 386-322-5152.

Paint-errific. 2 p.m. Friday, December 1 and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2. Whether you’ve just begun painting or have never tried before, this class is for you. Learn to paint a themed image during one of these identical classes. (The same painting will be taught on both dates). Space is limited. Reservations are required. 

 Trivia Night. 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 6. Do you know random facts and information? Do you like to test your knowledge against others? If so, this is the event for you. Come test the limits of your knowledge during our general trivia night at the Port Orange Regional Library. 

 DIY Home, Health, & Body. 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7. Long week worn you out? Come and join us as we create one or two skincare, cosmetic, and homecare products while learning the health benefits of the ingredients used in a relaxed environment. 

Poetry Writing Workshop. 2 p.m. Thursday, December 7. Join us as poet Marc Davidson of the Live Poets Society of Daytona Beach provides tips and leads us through fun poetry writing exercises. Representatives from Tomoka Poets will also assist during the workshop. Space is limited and reservations are required. Registration is required. 

Jingle Jolly Folly Open House. 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 12. Join us for our Open House!  Stop by for crafts, activities, and to learn all about what the library has to offer. .

Dulcimer Society Christmas Concert. 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 12. Get in the mood for Christmas with the delightful sound of dulcimers in this Christmas concert featuring the New Smyrna Beach Dulcimer Society. 

Holiday Photos. 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 12.  Stop in to have your photo taken! Photos will be emailed to you once editing is complete. 

Living Your Best Life: A Monthly Health and Wellness Series by Anne S. Tracy, R.N. of Halifax Health. 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 13. Feet can be the most forgotten, neglected and abused part of our body. Learn how to keep the “foundation” of our body healthy.

Exploring the Night Sky. 2 p.m. Thursday, December 14. Curator Seth Mayo of the Museum of Arts and Sciences will talk about what to look for in the night sky this month and in 2024. 

Genealogy Interest Group. 2 p.m. Friday, December 15. This is an informal space where you can meet and work with other family historians in a small group setting. Basic assistance with genealogy research is available. Feel free to bring your own laptop or device.  Please call 386-322-5152, option 4 to reserve a library laptop.  A very limited number are available for reservation, so call soon!  Reservations are not required to attend the session. 

Cricut Craft. 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 19. Make a beautiful holiday ornament during this crafting session. Registration is required.

Ask a Master Gardener and Plant Swap. 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 19. Get in the holiday spirit by sharing plants with each other.  Bring a plant and take a plant at our plant exchange party. UF/IFAS Master Gardeners will also share gardening tips and answer questions during the Ask a Master Gardener session. Residents can bring their plants for a free check-up. 

A Country Christmas Concert. 2 p.m. Thursday, December 21. Celebrate the holidays country music style with bluegrass band Sandy Back Porch.

Paper Craft Club. 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 26. Come express your creativity and design something beautiful! Paper crafters of all skill levels are welcome and are encouraged to share their knowledge and skills with others. Use our supplies or feel free to bring your own!
